Smilosuchus

Formerly known as Machaeoprosopus, Smilosuchus gregorii measured 12 meters and was the largest land animal of the Triassic period. It belongs to the Phytosaurs, a group of archosaurs that mimic in shape and lifestyle the crocodiles. Smilosuchus lived during the late Carnian in North America.
