Secodontosaurus obtusidens was a rare pelycosaur from the Early Permian of Texas. Related to Dimetrodon, but compared to its famous relative, it had a rather elongated snout with a row of small teeth, an indication of a specialized diet on small animals.

the body is hypothetical?

:iconntamura:
Not really. Seco is known from complete skulls as well as vertebral columns with sail and other fragments.

Thanks! That's a rather rare and obscure animal. :)

Oh my God. It looks like all those "Aligator with a Glued On Fin" 'dinosaurs' from the movies of the 40s/50s(Albiet, without the tail structure of a modern gator)!

That's just amazing!

Yeah, just like how Ludodactylus is the real life version of the pop culture Pteranodon. I'm always seeing cheap toys of what I assumed were just inaccurate gator-headed Dimetrodon... Is Secodontosaurus' skull wide like an alligator, or tall and narrow like Dimetrodon?

No, unlike an aligator's the skull was rather narrow.
