Description

Dunkleosteus terrelii is one of the largest placoderms. Measuring up to 6 meters in length, it was probably the apex predator of the devonian seas. A 2007 study indicated that it had the most powerful bites of all fish, well ahead of sharks, including the great white. Only the heavily armored head has been preserved in fossils.
