Arsinoitherium zitteli is the only member of the order Embrithopoda which is known by more than a few teeth and jaw fragments. Reaching a length of 3 meters, it superficially resembles a rhinoceros although it is more closely related to the elephants and hyraxes. It lived during the late Eocene and Early Oligocene of Egypt.
